CEED will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, under the guidance of the UCEED-CEED Implementation Committee Candidates seeking admission to the Master's Degree program in Design(M.Des) at IIT. (8 IITs offering M.Des)

Who can Apply ?

Candidates must have completed a degree/diploma/post-graduate degree program of a minimum of THREE years (after 10+2 level), 

or 

must be appearing for the final examination of such a program by the end of the academic year or must have passed the GD Arts diploma program (10+5 level).  

 

*Note that the eligibility criteria for admission to various institutes may differ from the criteria for appearing for CEED. 

 

**Before applying for CEED, candidates are advised to check whether they meet the required eligibility criteria for admission to various institutes.

 

***There is no age limit to appear for CEED. Also, a candidate can appear for CEED any number of times.

Exam Procedures

The CEED exam will be divided into two sections: Part A and Part B.  

 

The total exam duration is three hours, with Parts A  one hour and B two hours.

 

Part A contains questions for 100 marks. The duration allotted is 1 hour. The nature of the questions is objective:

Numerical Answer Type (NAT), Multiple Choice Question (MCQ), and Multiple Select Questions (MSQ).   

 

Part-A answers must be typed into a computer. These will be design aptitude questions that will assess the candidate's Visual and Spatial ability, Environmental and Social Awareness, Analytical and Logical Reasoning, Language, Observation, and Design sensitivity.  

 

*Part A marks the eligibility of the candidates for Part B.

 

Part B consists of five questions. Part B assesses the design, drawing, and writing abilities. The duration allotted is 2 hours.  

 

Part-B questions will be displayed on a computer screen answers must be written in the answer book provided by the invigilator (NOT into the Computer). At the end of the examination, the Part-B answer books will be collected.
